Oh my word…Okay so why hasn’t anyone told me about terrible threes?! Yes, terrible threes or is it just my toddler. He turned three this past December and his father and I noticed, he is starting to listen more, tantrums less. Great! We have passed the phase and now on to a life without tantrums. NOT!
Today’s brief dialogue snippet:
Ashton: “Mommy, can I have a big piece of candy?”
Me: “Not until you eat your dinner.”
Ashton: “But I want big piece of candy?”
Me: “Eat first then a piece of candy”
Ashton: Toy car thrown across the room
Me: “Pick it up or you won’t get no type of candy after you eat”
Ashton: Lays on the floor and makes a carpet angel (version of snow angel)
There is something said when your toddler is an only child and he has the vocabulary of a 7 year old rather than a 3 year old, I guess when your an only child and only among adults some his demeanor and conversation will be more kid-like. More playdates please!! Sometimes the things he does, I say to myself “I can’t believe I birthed this little human being” or “This little human is being a total monster right now.” His fearlessness makes me wonder “where and who did he get this characteristic from?” At the end of the day and all my days, I am proud to be the mama ace of this demanding, little ace.
Have a wonderful evening!
